Daniel Harding conducts the Vienna Philharmonic at the Salzburg Festival.
Recorded last month at the Grosses Festspielhaus in Salzburg, the Vienna Philharmonic paired the ageing Strauss's moving Metamorphosen for 23 solo strings with his epic Also sprach Zarathustra. And, as a centenary hommage to György Ligeti, they play two of his best-known works.
Presented by Georgia Mann.
