It’s party time at the Royal Albert Hall as the 2023 ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Proms season wraps up in rousing style at the most exhilarating classical music celebration of the year.
Superstar cellist Sheku Kanneh-Mason kicks off proceedings in spectacular style with the spine-tingling opening of the main theme of Disney’s much-anticipated upcoming superhero film The Marvels. He also treats us to Coleridge-Taylor’s Deep River, after which world-renowned soprano Lise Davidsen performs an aria by Kalman. The two then combine forces for Villa-Lobos’s sultry Bachianas Brasileiras.
The evening culminates in much-loved British classics, including Land of Hope and Glory, Rule Britannia and Jerusalem, all brought to you by the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Symphony Orchestra under the baton of maestro Marin Alsop.
Katie Derham presents, joined by special guests Sandi Toksvig and Danielle de Niese.
