Cerys' weekly round-up of the blues you need to hear, from all around the world and in all shapes and sizes!
This week, Cerys' guest is one of the original Louisiana blues musicians, Lil' Jimmy Reed. Born in the late 1930s, Leon Atkins was dubbed 'Lil' Jimmy Reed' after standing in for the Jimmy Reed when he couldn't play. Despite playing live since a teenager, Leon recorded his first studio album aged 58.
This year, he released his fourth studio album, Back to Baton Rouge. Now at the age of 85, he’s still performing what has been described as 'raw, unadulterated sound of authentic Louisiana blues,' and is currently touring the UK.
