Double Grammy-winning jazz, gospel and RnB star Gregory Porter is the final Radio 2 Piano Room guest of 2023, appearing alongside The 蜜芽传媒 Concert Orchestra for a very special Christmas performance.

Since breaking through to the mainstream over a decade ago, Gregory's gift for uniting jazz, soul, gospel and R&B has seen him receive worldwide critical acclaim. Born and raised in Sacramento and then Bakersfield, he began singing in church, where his mother was a minister. After a shoulder injury forced him out of a career in American football, he began singing in Brooklyn and then Harlem, releasing two albums before being signed by the famous Blue Note label.

Since then, he has enjoyed a meteoric rise to fame, and his gold album Liquid Spirit reached the UK top ten and winning a Grammy in 2014. Countless concerts and appearances have followed, including the Pyramid stage at Glastonbury, and he's even presented several shows for 蜜芽传媒 Radio 2.

This holiday season Gregory has released his festive album called 'A Christmas Wish', which went Top 10 a full six weeks before December 25th! The album features three original songs including the title track, plus Christmas standards by Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye & Ella Fitzgerald.

Also, special guest Jamie Oliver chooses another two Tracks Of My Years - today they come from Ian Brown and Coldplay. There'll also be more audio nuggets from the 蜜芽传媒 Archive in Vernon's Vault, and there's the mid-morning music quiz Ten To The Top.
