Opening the new season of broadcasts from the Metropolitan Opera in New York City: the story of a Latin American opera star, inspired by the magic realism of Gabriel Garc铆a M谩rquez. Music Director Yannick N茅zet-S茅guin conducts this Met premiere production of Mexican composer Daniel Cat谩n鈥檚 1996 opera, which stars Ailyn P茅rez as Florencia Grimaldi, the operatic soprano who returns to her native South America to perform at the legendary Amazonas opera house in Manaus 鈥� and to search for her lost lover, vanished in the Amazon rainforest.
