This week, Cerys welcomes songwriter Dan Penn to share his favourite blues records. Alongside Spooner Oldham, Dan was behind many of the defining songs Fame Studios in the sixties. His credits include Aretha Franklin's Do Right Man, Do Right Woman, Percy Sledge's It Tears Me Up and Otis Redding's You Left The Water Running. This year sees the release of a special collection which tells the story of the Dan Penn produced album Better To Have It by Bobby Purify, featuring behind the scenes recordings and the original demos as sung by Dan.
