The Bard of Moneyrea, an evening of song and a night at the movies

Robert Huddleston - The Bard of Moneyrea, an evening of song and a night at the movies.

Willie and Helen discuss Robert Huddleston (The Bard of Moneyrea) alongside historians at the Ulster Folk Museum ahead of their new trail – “Rhyming Rab’s Ramble”. Willie even attempts to read one of his poems – littered as it was with some wonderful hand written Ulster-Scots.
Meanwhile, Rachel has been to a viewing of “VC of Kilkeel: The Story of Robert Hill Hanna” a documentary celebrating a legendary figure from the Kingdom of Mourne. Also – Jonnie spends an evening rehearsing with the Ballymoney Male Choir ahead of their annual concert.
As always, listeners are invited to contact the programme with a good Ulster-Scots yarn or event to talk about. The easiest way to do that is by email - kintra@bbc.co.uk.
