Vernon Kay chats to a bona fide rock icon - Sheryl Crow. She paints a fantastic picture of growing up in Missouri in the late 60s, early 70s turning her hand to everything from a majorette to a champion track runner. Both her parents were musical and so they were filled with delight when it transpired that Sheryl could play the piano by ear.

The Singer-songwriter and nine-time Grammy Award-winner Sheryl Crow began life as a backing singer before she stepped out of the shadows, releasing her first album 鈥淭uesday Night Music Club鈥� in 1993 to critical acclaim. She has gone on to sell 50 million records, with massive singles like 鈥淚f It Makes You Happy鈥�, 鈥淓very Day Is a Winding Road鈥�, 鈥淢y Favourite Mistake鈥� and 鈥淪oak Up the Sun鈥�. Earlier this year she released her eleventh full-length studio album 鈥淓volution鈥�, and has just completed a summer tour of the UK.

She is also known for her love of country music, having performed at the CMA鈥檚 with Loretta Lynn, Brad Paisley and Kid Rock over the years, as well as duetting and performing with other greats such as The Stones, Stevie Nicks, Eric Clapton, Luciano Pavarotti, Willie Nelson, Smokey Robinson and BB King.
