As part of Nordic Music Days festival held in Scotland for the first time in 136 years, one of the world's leading violinists Isabelle Faust joins the Royal Scottish National Orchestra and Music Director Thomas Sondergard. The North Sea and an evening with birds are conjured in Rune Glerup鈥檚 work About Light and Lightness. Glerup says 鈥榤y violin concerto would never have been written if I had not met Isabelle Faust鈥�. After the interval, the extraordinary energy of Sibelius Symphony No 7 takes place alongside a performance of Hildur Jonsdottir's Tacet: Extrinsic, a work for silent performer. Plus music by Aileen Sweeney and Errollyn Wallen.
