Luffy, Bartolomeo, Desire, and the miners start climbing a track that leads them out of the underground mines, but Peseta and his men are waiting for them. When they are attacked by a flame projector, Kin鈥檈mon appears just in time to save them. They finally reach the surface, but Peseta shows up again and says he鈥檒l kill Desire鈥檚 subordinates, who he had captured, if they don鈥檛 turn themselves in quietly. Then Zoro shows up. He frees Desire鈥檚 subordinates and easily defeats Peseta. Luffy, Bartolomeo, Kin鈥檈mon, and Zoro start heading to the ship but are suddenly attacked by Bill. Luffy tells Zoro and Kin鈥檈mon to go on ahead to the ship. Desire is shocked to learn that it was Bill who sunk her crew鈥檚 boats, which also enrages Luffy.
