Rakhi Singh presents an hour of Refractions - sonic mirrors of music from all genres because as Rakhi says "the art of our ancestors finds its way into our creations of today." Expect music from John Adams, Stravinsky, Vessel and the Bulgarian State Choir.
Rahki Singh is a violinist, composer, producer musician and co-artistic director of the contemporary classical ensemble Manchester Collective. Since their formation in 2016 the Collective has performed new work by composers such as Edmund Finnis, Hannah Peel, and Moor Mother and collaborated with people like as cellist Abel Selaocoe, guitarist Sean Shibe, and jazz pianist Fergus McCreadie. Their next project is Refractions a collaboration with electronic musician Clark and choreographer Melanie Lane, which in turn inspired this playlist.
