Drum Majors Heading to NYC and the Return of Hairt Songs!

News of a trip bringing pipe to New York, two new Hairt Songs and some new funding for U-S TV!

Helen Mark presents ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio Ulster’s weekly Ulster-Scots magazine show alongside Rab Lennox and Willie Hill. This week, there’s news of a team of Drum Majors heading to the Tartan Day in - of all places - New York City. Heidi McAlpin from the Ulster-Scots Broadcast Fund joins the team to flag a new funding opportunity that ties in with the impending 250th anniversary of American Independence. And there’s the return of a very popular Kintra feature – ‘Hairt Songs’ – with both Jane Rea and Rebs Lightbody selecting a piece of music they find particularly special.

As always, listeners are invited to contact the programme with a good Ulster-Scots yarn or event to talk about. The easiest way to do that is by email - kintra@bbc.co.uk.
