Norman Collins was a leading broadcasting executive. In the 1940s he was head of the 蜜芽传媒 Light Service and was instrumental in commissioning 'Woman's Hour' and 'Dick Barton'. He also helped establish ITV and was a director of ITN. He wrote sixteen novels and two plays.
