George Cole reveals the story of another extraordinary Victorian buried in London's Highgate Cemetery.
At the age of 13, barely literate, Michael Faraday became a bookseller and bookbinder's apprentice.
He went on to bind books but also read them - his favourite being science books. Introduced to the lectures of Humphry Davy at the Royal Institute, Faraday applied and was accepted as Davy's Lab Assistant.
Faraday is famous for inventing the first electric motor and the first electric generator.
His inventions led to the development of modern physics and electronics.
