Remembering Mike Peters from The Alarm
Shaun pays tribute to Mike Peters from The Alarm, who died earlier this week, by revisiting Mike's 'Rock God' pick from 2023.
Mike Peters' life in rock n roll really kicked off at the dawn of the 80s, when The Alarm got together in Denbighshire in Wales.
Just two years later, they had a hit on their hands with 'Sixty Eight Guns' and success followed, both here and in the US. Though the band came to and end a decade later, Mike continued his musical career, and The Alarm got back together in 2000. He went on to work with his wife Jules in a band called The Poets of Justice and also teamed up with the likes of Billy Duffy from The Cult. Outside of music, Mike campaigned for many years against cancer, raising awareness and funds for battling the disease. He'd suffered with cancer for over 30 years and died earlier this week, aged 66.
Shaun's paying tribute to Mike on the show with another chance to hear Mike's Rock God choice, which he recorded for Johnnie Walker in 2023.
Also on the show, Shaun's lined up a sturdy stream of classic anthems and new releases a-plenty, plus another stage-busting 'Live & Dangerous' track.
