Soweto shares concert highlights from the expansive UK pianist.
鈥楻ound Midnight is presented by award-winning saxophonist Soweto Kinch. This weekday late-night show celebrates the thriving UK jazz scene and spotlights the best new music alongside incredible acts from past decades.
On this Friday night's edition of 鈥楻ound Midnight, Soweto presents performance highlights from the ever-creative UK pianist Zoe Rahman, recorded live at Tampere Jazz Happening in Finland, late last year.
She was joined by an octet of fellow first-rate musicians, with the aim of bringing together artists from different generations who have their own solo projects. They were flautist Gareth Lockrane, alto saxophonist Helena Kay, tenor saxophonist Tori Freestone, trumpeter Mark Armstrong, trombonist Rosie Turton, bassist Alec Dankworth, and drummer Gene Calderazzo.
Zoe and her octet performed music from her 2023 widely acclaimed album Colour of Sound.
