Nefyn Show

Country Focus is at Sioe Nefyn on the Llyn Peninsula, a showcase of rural life, livestock, crafts and community that marks the start of the summer show season in Wales.

Join Ifan Jones Evans and reporter Megan Williams as Country Focus comes from the fields of Botacho Wyn on the Llŷn Peninsula, where they’re soaking up the sights and sounds of Sioe Nefyn – the agricultural show that launches the summer season in rural Wales.

Now in its 127th year, Nefyn Show brings together livestock competitions, craft and cookery classes, tradestands, and vintage displays – all set against the stunning backdrop of the peninsula.

We meet local farming families like the Joneses, who return each year to compete and connect, and go behind the scenes with the show’s hardworking volunteers. Ifan also visits the DPJ Foundation stand to talk about mental health in rural communities, ahead of Mental Health Awareness Week.

Whether it’s the thrill of a red rosette or the chance to catch up with old friends and make new ones, this episode captures the pride and community spirit at the heart of agricultural life in Wales.
