The church was established in the first half of the 12th century to serve the burgeoning wool, cloth and leather trading community. There are twelve bells all cast by the John Taylor foundry in Loughborough. The Tenor weighs thirty four and three quarter hundredweight and is tuned to the note of D flat. We hear them ringing Stedman Cinques.
