Connie tries to set up Rose with a suitor, but Rose rejects him, much to Connie's frustration. Sophie confides to her exasperated editor, who has been pressuring her to file a story, that she might finally be on the cusp of something big, having discovered that two of Australia鈥檚 biggest unsolved mysteries might in fact be connected.

After more disastrous encounters with the men of Scribbly Gum Island, Sophie returns to the city and wonders if it might be time she left the island for good. Ron plots to get Rose off the island. Margie and Ronald鈥檚 connection deepens as Ronald helps Margie uncover an important clue to her family's mystery.
