King's Lynn 14
Hoping to unearth treasures at a huge antiques centre in King’s Lynn are two teams of friends, guided by experts David Fergus and Caroline Hawley.
The discovery of Tutankhamun’s tomb in Egypt is a well-known story. Less well known is the Norfolk man who found it. Charlie Ross visits Swaffham Museum to see an exhibition about Howard Carter, who grew up in the town years before unearthing the resting place of the teenage pharaoh in the 1920s.
Hoping to dig up some treasures at a huge antiques centre in nearby King’s Lynn are two teams of friends - Terri and Lorraine in red, and Bruno and Tom in blue. With expert Caroline Hawley on hand to guide them, the reds wonder if it’s worth pouring money into a retro tea set. Meanwhile, the blues consider buying a collection of vintage toy cars - but their expert, David Fergus, puts the brakes on it.
In the neighbouring county of Lincolnshire, auctioneer Colin Young shares his estimates on the teams’ lots before putting them under the hammer.
