Week 1: Cassie Takes The Stand

Cassie says she was abused and forced to participate in 'freak-off' sessions with male escorts, while Sean 'Diddy' Combs' defence asked her about explicit text messages between her and Diddy.

In the first four days of Diddy's trial, his former partner Cassie Ventura has given evidence and been questioned by the defence.

She testified that Diddy raped her at the end of their relationship and that she was forced to take part in 'freak-offs', sexual encounters in which Cassie would have sex with male escorts while Diddy watched.

Diddy’s defence team have tried to establish that they may have been consensual. During the first day of Cassie’s cross examination, one of his lawyers, Anna Estevao, asked Ventura about the more loving side of the pair's time together.

Anoushka Mutanda-Dougherty speaks to the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½â€™s New York correspondent Nada Tawfik and gets the latest legal analysis from criminal defence attorney Shaun Kent.
