ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ NOW performs Widmann, Mozart, and Mendelssohn

The ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ National Orchestra of Wales and conductor Jörg Widmann perform his 2nd Violin Concerto with his sister Carolin as soloist. Plus a Mozart overture and a Mendelssohn symphony.

The ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ National Orchestra of Wales are joined by composer and conductor Jörg Widmann to give the UK premiere of his 2nd Violin Concerto, which he has paired with Mozart's effervescent Overture to The Marriage of Figaro, and Mendelssohn's celebration of the Reformation of the Catholic church, his 5th Symphony. Widmann's concerto is dedicated to his violinist sister, Carolin, and the siblings join forces in this concert to perform the work.

Recorded at ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Hoddinott Hall in Cardiff on the 15th of May 2025, presented by Shân Cothi.
