Celebrating that hallowed Donington turf for the weekend's Download Festival...

Celebrating 45 years of rock at Donington to mark the start of Download Festival weekend, and 'Canal Boat Diaries' TV presenter Robbie Cumming picks his Rock God.

It's hard to believe, but Donington Park race track in Leicestershire has been the home of one of the UK's most famous live rock and metal events for forty five years this year. The first 'Monsters of Rock' happened there in August 1980 with the Scorpions, Rainbow and Judas Priest on the bill. Fast forward to 2025, and it's now a huge multi-day event, albeit rebranded 'Download' and attracts hundreds of thousands of rock fans year on year.

Shaun celebrates the Donington legacy on the show, and the Rock God this time comes from a man who knows a lot about... canals! You may be more familiar with Robbie Cumming on a canal boat, presenting his hugely successful series 'Canal Boat Diaries', but he's also a big rock fan too. He will be revealing exactly which rocker floats his boat (sorry)...
