Mark and Stuart present a feast of great music and chat for weekend breakfast

Today they are joined by Lily Fontaine of Mercury Music Prize-winning band English Teacher. The singer, musician, writer and frontwoman of English Teacher shares her ‘First, Last and Everything’ - that’s her first record, the most recent one she's enjoyed and the record that means ‘everything’ to her. Lily also chats about the band's forthcoming performances, including their Glastonbury set later this month.

Lily formed English Teacher with Lewis Whiting, Douglas Frost and Nicholas Eden after meeting at university in Leeds. Their debut album 'This Could Be Texas' won the 2024 Mercury Music Prize and they played the 6 Music Festival earlier this year. As well as talking about her music memories, Lily tells Mark and Stuart what's in store for her and the band in 2025.

Also on the show... long-running feature ‘The Chain’ which gives listeners the chance to pick a track that links in some way to the last. The list now contains over 8000 songs.

With a selection of music old and new to get the weekend started.
