Luis Enrique鈥檚 PSG cantered to their fourth successive French top-flight title this season with six games to spare, but major European success has so far proven elusive. The Parisians were runners-up in this competition five years ago, and Marseille remain the only French side to claim the Champions League crown, having done so back in 1993.

Three-time champions of Europe, Inter reached this stage after defeating Barcelona in one of the greatest two-legged ties in Champions League history. Simone Inzaghi鈥檚 outfit produced a dramatic late turnaround to edge past the Catalan giants 7-6 on aggregate, with midfielder Davide Frattesi scoring the winner in the first period of extra time.
