Seafood Trails and Thrilling Tales
Seafood from Gwynedd, crime fiction rooted in rural life and a prizewinning eco project. Join Ifan Jones Evans for this week's Country Focus from across Wales.
Join Ifan Jones Evans for a rich mix of stories from across Wales in this week’s edition of Country Focus.
We begin in west Wales, where June’s National Crime Reading Month takes us in an unexpected direction. Ifan speaks with historical crime writer Alis Hawkins, whose upbringing on a dairy farm in Ceredigion has deeply influenced her writing.
Next, we journey to the coast of north Wales and explore the new Seafood Trail across Gwynedd. Whether travelling by car, bike, or on foot, the trail highlights locally caught seafood and the vibrant coastal culture of the region.
Finally, we head south to Carmarthenshire, where a social enterprise making a real difference has received international recognition. Glasbren, based in Llansteffan, has been awarded the prestigious Lush Spring Prize Influence Award for their work in community-led regeneration.
