Jamie MacDougall celebrates all things drums and percussion with two of the world’s top percussionists - Dame Evelyn Glennie and Colin Currie. We hear insights into their music making, stories about the artists that have inspired them, and they also share some of their favourite recordings from their personal collection. Expect to hear music by Japanese composer Toru Takemitsu, Steve Reich, John Adams and Berlioz, alongside the inspired collaboration of Shivkumar Sharma and Zakir Hussain, featuring the exotic sounds of santoor and tablas. Drumsticks at the ready for this two-hour special celebrating the world of percussion and the instruments that provide colour and drama to the sound of an ensemble/orchestra.
