The Mountaintop, the Royal Lyceum in Edinburgh鈥檚 current production of the Olivier Award-winning play, dramatises Martin Luther King Jr鈥檚 last night alive. Caleb Roberts, who plays King, and Shannon Hayes, who takes on the role of motel maid Camae, tell us more.

Across three features to date, Jersey-born, London-based film director Michael Pearce has explored intense family dynamics in unique ways. Following Beast in 2017 and Encounter in 2021, his latest thriller, Echo Valley, stars Julianne Moore and rising star Sydney Sweeney as a mother and daughter whose bond is put under pressure when drug addiction and money problems result in a dead body in the back of a car. The film is written by Brad Inglesby, who also wrote Mare of Easttown, which starred Kate Winslet. Our arts reporter Siobhan Synnot recently sat down with Michael to discuss middle-aged problems, bath water and believable villains.
