What's in Vernon's Vault today?

Rock icon Suzi Quatro picks her Tracks Of My Years, there's another dive into Vernon's Vault, and two more music buffs show off their knowledge in Ten To The Top.

Rock icon Suzi Quatro takes us on her 10-song journey in this week's Tracks Of My Years.

Born in Detroit, Suzi first performed aged just 14 in her father's jazz band, The Art Quatro Trio, before starting a girl band with her elder sister called The Pleasure Seekers. The legendary music producer Mickie Most offered Suzi a solo contract in 1971, and she moved to England to start a new chapter.

She supported the likes of Thin Lizzy and Slade while honing her craft, and she achieved huge success with her second single - Can The Can - in 1973. Suzi had further hits with songs like 48 Crash and Devil Gate Drive, and she was huge in Europe - particularly Germany - and in Australia. She's less well known for her music, ironically, in her native America, where she's probably best remembered for her role in the long-running sitcom 'Happy Days', where she played Leather Tuscadero.

Other acting roles included Minder, Dempsey and Makepeace, Absolutely Fabulous and the film version of Bob The Builder. Suzi's released 18 albums overall, and her most recent was 'Face To Face' in 2023, a collaboration album with KT Tunstall. In addition to her music, Suzi has written several books, and has just published 'Grave Undertakings - her second work of fiction. She has also 4 large full-colour hard cover coffee table books with a selection of poems and lyrics, titled Through My Eyes, Through My Heart, Through My Words and Through My Thoughts.
