Summer Solstice

Gilles marks the shortest night of the year with music and guests from Scandinavia. Plus a tribute to Mancunian singer Diane Charlemagne and sweet soul from the US West Coast.

Gilles celebrates the longest day of the year, inviting Scandinavian musicians and label curators to share a track and thoughts on the summer solstice. We hear from Danish bass player Jasper H酶iby, Norwegian-Mexican electronic music producer Carmen Villain, Norwegian composer Anja Lauvdal, rapper Ivan Ave and drummer Dummy Thicc and more.

Also, Gilles welcomes film director Jesus Cruz of Soul Searchin鈥�, a documentary about the Lowrider Mexican Chicano scene on the West Coast, to the studio. Plus, he pays tribute to Mancunian singer Diane Charlemagne, who is getting a Blue Plaque erected in Manchester next week.
