Episode 1
Rob Brydon takes 13 strangers on the adventure of a lifetime - but can they figure out where in the world they are?
A competitive reality format played out over an incredible journey through Europe - a journey where things are not what they seem.
Rob Brydon is the games master who takes 13 carefully selected players on board the X-bus and asks them one simple question - where the X are they? With blacked-out windows, all they have to do is try to deduce where in the world they are, because at the end of every episode, they must place an X on a map. The closest stay on the bus - the furthest away is eliminated from the competition. In the end, one walks away with a cash prize of £100,000.
Each of the ten episodes sees Rob take the adventurers on another incredible leg of the journey - a fantastical trek that turns Europe into a board game, with twists and turns around every corner. Epic challenges offer clues to those smart enough to figure them out, but players - and viewers - beware, there are also some red herrings scattered around.
In this first episode, the players are in at the deep end when they arrive at a German airport, where nothing is as it seems. So, while the players are eyeing up the competition, are they missing out on valuable clues that could help them later on in the game?
And after a box-load of clues in another mystery location, two players have a difficult choice to make before they get to place their X on the map. But with clues to five different countries and every passenger with their own unique way of approaching the challenge, who will figure out where in the world they really are? And will the players decide to share information or send each other in the wrong direction?
Viewers can play along at home by trying to guess where Destination X is, and they can join in the journey and place their own X at bbc.co.uk/destinationX
