World Premiere of Wynton Marsalis's Concerto for Orchestra

Marsalis's Concerto for Orchestra was commissioned by the WDR Symphony Orchestra, the ensemble in this first ever performance of the work. Plus Yunchan Lim plays Rachmaninov.

Marsalis's Concerto for Orchestra was commissioned by the WDR Symphony Orchestra, the ensemble in this first ever performance of the work. The conductor is Cristian Măcelaru, who has a long-standing relationship with the composer. The premiere is preceded by Yunchan Lim's stunning rendition of Rachmaninov's Second Piano Concerto.
