'Not your average orchestra' is how Sinfonia Cymru like to introduce themselves; its players are young, adventurous and often enjoy dancing between classical and other musical styles. For this concert from Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff, Sinfonia Cymru have joined with classical and folk violinist, Bridget O’Donnell and jazz bassist, Misha Mullov-Abbado to create a programme celebrating our deep connection with nature. We’ll hear music inspired by Celtic, Nordic, American, Eastern European and Middle Eastern traditions. There are traditional folk tunes alongside contemporary songwriters and classical composers – evoking land and sea, sun and moon, the spirit of the winds and the cycles of the seasons.
