Nick Drake's magical debut
Celebrating the magic of Nick Drake's debut album, Five Leaves Left, with Nick's sister, Gabrielle Drake.
The best folk and acoustic music from Britain and beyond.
This week, Mark celebrates the magic of Nick Drake's debut album, Five Leaves Left.
It received relatively little attention on release in 1969, only finding a passionate audience some time after Nick's tragic passing.
Unheard demos have recently come to light and they feature on a new box set: The Making of Five Leaves Left.
Mark Radcliffe listens to these early recordings in the company of Nick's sister, the actress Gabrielle Drake, and Cally Callomon who manages the Nick Drake estate.
