Enter Nationalism
President Milosevic of Serbia describes how he seized absolute power in Serbia and unleashed the nationalism that shook the foundations upon which Yugoslavia had been built.
The violent collapse of Yugoslavia began in April 1987 when Serbia's then-president, Ivan Stambolic, sent his deputy, Slobodan Milosevic, to Kosovo, a poor region in Serbia, to calm an ethnic conflict that was threatening.
In this programme, President Milosevic of Serbia and his inner circle describe how he betrayed his political patron, seized absolute power in Serbia and unleashed the nationalism that shook the foundations upon which Yugoslavia had been built.
