'Wellies or Rain boots?'
Sean says no-one ever spoke about ‘wellies’ when he was growing up—only water boots.
“You are reminding me of going round the dances in the 1960s,” says William, in Carryduff. Sean has been asking if people spoke about ‘wellies’ or ‘water boots’ when they were younger. “I was looking for a wife,” says William, who’s from farming stock. “I wanted a girl with the Wellington marks on the backs of her legs. Then you'd know she was a good worker!”
“I remember the mark on your leg from the water boots,” Sean says. “But no girl ever spotted it or ever asked me about it.”
