Narrated by Colin Morgan, The Chronicles of Strangford follows a year on Strangford Lough the largest sea inlet in the UK.

It's autumn and some boats remain on the lough all year round, like the ferries. One of the oldest ferry routes in the world has operated between Strangford and Portaferry since the 1180s in some form or other. Ex-car- ferry Captain John Murray, from a generation of ferrymen, and his grandson Tom look back at the launch of the car ferry in 1969.
