4. Inspiration

Episode 4 of 5

Philip Sweeney explores how the Paris Metro has inspired films, novels and poetry with symbolic settings. From 2000.

Since the inauguration of its first line in 1900, the Paris Metro has occupied a place in the city's culture, history and mythology.

Philip Sweeney travels the Metro to explore the city's love affair with the underground past and present.
