Gary Davies sits in and Paul Nicholas - Just Good Friends, Tommy, Jesus Christ Superstar - chooses another two songs for Tracks of My Years. Plus there's more music history in De Ja Woo
Star of stage and screen Paul Nicholas - Just Good Friends, Tommy, Jesus Christ Superstar - chooses his Tracks of My Years.
Paul originally launched a pop career in the early 60s, but soon changed to musical theatre, beginning with the leading role of Claude in 'Hair', and later being cast in the title role in the original London production of 'Jesus Christ Superstar' in 1972.
He went on to achieve significant success when originating the role of Rum Tum Tugger in the original London production of 'Cats', but is perhaps best known to the wider public for starring as Vince Pinner in the ѿý 1 sitcom 'Just Good Friends'.
After six decades treading the boards Paul's latest role is 'The Major' in the stage adaptation of 'Fawlty Towers'. Nearly 50 years since it was first broadcast on ѿý Two, John Cleese has chosen three of his favourite original TV episodes - ‘The Hotel Inspector’ and ‘The Germans’ from series one and ‘Communication Problems’ from series two - and adapted them into a two-hour play, complete with a new finale.
Following the hugely successful and critically acclaimed West End run earlier this year and a return three-month summer season this June, 'Fawlty Towers' will embark on a major 10-month tour from this September.
Plus there's the mid-morning music quiz Ten To The Top, more music history in De Ja Woo, and the Record and Album Of The Week.
