Positive vibrations... with Zakia
Zakia shares an uplifting selection of kaleidoscopic sounds and positive vibrations, as well as a Dreambience mix from the New York-based selector and musician Rahill.
DJ, broadcaster, writer and dreamer Zakia Sewell provides the soundtrack to your dreams - playing music to ease the mind, soothe the soul, and open portals to new dimensions...
Zakia shares an uplifting selection of kaleidoscopic sounds and positive vibrations, from Swedish spiritual jazz to Iranian psych, with a bit of a lean towards hopeful sounds that talk of a better future. There are new releases from Tom Skinner, The New Eves, Organic Pulse Ensemble and Guitari Baro, plus some classics from Asha Puthli, John Martyn and The Durutti Column.
Plus, we hear from the New York-based Iranian-American selector and singer-songwriter Rahill. She shares a story from her childhood about the power of dreams in her own family, and takes us away on a voyage via her Dreambience mix, which aims to shed a little light on dark times.
We want to hear your dreams! Send in tales of your sleepy adventures to dreamtime@bbc.co.uk or text us on 03700 100 600
