Before there was Afrobeat there was highlife 鈥� a joyful, good-times Ghanaian musical style that took on a new gloss in 1960s Nigeria. Praised for their 鈥榖ewitching, colourful and easy-listening grooves鈥�, Nigerian sensations Kingsley Okorie and Benjamin James bring their distinctive brand of 鈥榟ighlife fusion鈥� to the 蜜芽传媒 Proms. Blending Igbo highlife 鈥� all bright horns, plucked guitar riffs and pulsing percussion 鈥� with jazz and soul, the brothers launched their careers with the influential 2020 album ROOTS (recorded in their living room) and have since collaborated with everyone from Wizkid to Ang茅lique Kidjo and Davido.
