Ardingly 7
An ancient shark’s tooth and a piece of fossilised dinosaur poo are revealed to Charlie Ross in geologist Barry Taylor’s quirky collection.
Charlie Ross embarks on a Jurassic journey of discovery in today’s episode from West Sussex, when he meets a man with a geology museum in his back garden. Barry Taylor boasts around 40,000 exhibits in his collection, from an ancient shark’s tooth to a piece of fossilised dinosaur poo! His oldest specimen is a breathtaking 2,700 million years old.
Meanwhile, can the teams dig up any profits at Ardingly antiques fair? Hoping not to argue over their purchases are the reds, friends Robin and John, helped by expert Nick Hall. Taking a more clinical approach for the blues are father-and-son scientists, Adrian and Jake, alongside Stephanie Connell.
As the hour ticks down, Robin spots a late 18th-century camel’s saddle, but they’re shocked by the four-figure price tag! And the blue team is intrigued by a cabinet of Japanese netsukes - made to fasten kimonos - but can they wrap up a deal?
