Monty is summer-pruning his trained fruit, sowing some hardy annuals for cutting next year and planning ahead for winter in the veg garden. In his wildlife garden, he has come to a difficult decision.

Four years after its official opening, Jamie Butterworth visits RHS Garden Bridgewater in Salford to discover how it has been developing. And at home in the Peak District, Rekha Mistry shares her expertise on how to become more self-sufficient with a tasty array of home-grown produce.

There is also a poignant celebration of the work a couple has done restoring a garden surrounding a historic windmill near Cambridge.
