80s icon Toyah takes us on her 10-song journey all this week on Tracks Of My Years.
Performing on stage and screen for over 50 years, Toyah is an award-winning performer with hit singles like It's A Mystery, I Want to Be Free and Brave New World. She has amassed thirteen top 40 singles, recorded twenty-five albums, written two books, appeared in over forty stage plays, acted in over twenty feature films and presented many television programmes.
As well as her music and touring, Toyah hosts a very successful YouTube channel called Sunday Lunch. She and her husband Robert Fripp started the channel during lockdown, with the videos featuring a mix of songs Robert has played on or that they’ve both been connected to over the years.
Last year she played at Glastonbury with Robert, and she appeared on the 22nd series of 'Strictly Come Dancing', as first revealed on Vernon's show.
In 2018 Paul McCartney awarded Toyah a Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts Companionship for Outstanding Achievement in music, drama, performance and media.
