Episode 4
A storm threatens JJ’s restoration projects, and JB is overwhelmed by a house full of antique furniture. Can they help a couple make space, and cash, to renovate their old cottage?
Restoration enthusiasts Paul and Amanda have devoted 15 years to lovingly reviving vintage, salvaged and antique treasures. Their passion has resulted in an immense collection, sourced from auctions, charity shops and even roadside finds – so many, in fact, that they have a storage container overflowing with them! However, their biggest challenge remains unfinished – restoring a dilapidated 17th-century cottage.
With not a single room complete, they are calling on the auctioneers to help them sort through their collection, let go of what they no longer need and turn it into cash. Only then can they free themselves from storage costs and finally have the space and funds to finish their dream home.
Auctioneer JB has just one day to sift through a house full of interesting items. He is thrilled to uncover Amanda's cherished childhood saxophone, a treasured Christmas gift from years ago – but will she be able to part with it when auction time arrives?
Meanwhile, JJ may have taken on more than he can handle, tackling three restorations at once, including a damaged piece of iconic furniture and an early 20th-century cast-iron theatre seat. With his open-air workshop at the mercy of worsening weather, the pressure is on. Can he complete his projects before time runs out?
