Newark 16
The teams are bargain-hunting at an antiques centre in Newark with experts Phil Serrell and Roo Irvine, whilst Natasha learns about a collection of vintage uniforms.
Newark in Nottinghamshire is the setting for the show, and just a stone’s throw away is the beautiful Doddington Hall. The Grade I listed building dates back to the late 16th century, but it’s not the focus of Natasha Raskin Sharp’s visit. It is also home to a collection of almost 4,000 military uniforms and accessories, some from the regiments of Winston Churchill. Natasha is given a tour by Doddington Hall owner James Birch.
Back at the antiques centre, there’s a battle taking place between two teams of friends, and the reds are a rock duo from a famous band. Jon (bass) and Ade (drums) are members of Doctor and the Medics, whose hit Spirit in the Sky reached number one in 1986. They tee off against golf buddies Karen and Claire, who are led by Roo Irvine. A rare designer necklace is a big-spend contender, but Karen isn’t keen. Meanwhile, Ade spots a vintage military ice bucket, but the team’s interest quickly cools. It’s then off to Lichfield in Staffordshire, where auctioneer Richard Winterton wields his gavel. Who will win the day?
