Dame Julie Andrews DBE is celebrating her 90th birthday. Two of the greatest and best known film roles in the world always spring to mind when her name is mentioned, alongside long-running and award-winning stage shows on both sides of the Atlantic.
In this new compilation of Dame Julie’s many decades of ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ appearances, we hear about her family and early life in London, and when her singing voice was first discovered at the age of 12. Julie also remembers her first job, which was at the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½, working alongside Hattie Jacques, Tony Hancock, Harry Secombe and many others. Julie then travels to America to appear in The Boyfriend, My Fair Lady and Camelot - all on stage. Walt Disney saw her as Guinevere and offered Julie her first film role in Mary Poppins, which also gave Julie an Oscar. Her amazing career took off with a wide range of roles in The Sound Of Music, Duet for One, That’s Life, S.O.B., 10, Torn Curtain and Victor/Victoria.
