Join Pete as he takes you through his essential guide to dance music in the year 2000 - a new millennium when trance and UK garage ruled the clubs and electronic music exploded worldwide. This was the era that gave us some of the scene鈥檚 most iconic tracks from the likes of Daft Punk, MJ Cole, Paul Van Dyk, Spiller and more.
We鈥檒l also relive a legendary Essential Mix moment, when Carl Cox celebrated the turn of the millennium not once but twice! First in Sydney, Australia, and then again in Hawaii after crossing back over the International Date Line.
On the Radio 1 Dance Rewind, we鈥檙e heading back to Leeds for the legendary Love Parade. Hosted by Radio 1, it was the UK鈥檚 biggest-ever free daytime party - and Pete鈥檚 got a 30-minute mainstage set from the iconic Sasha, captured live.
