Jason Mohammad takes your calls on the water quality of our rivers, the expense of supporting your sports team and the supermoon
Has water quality stopped you from using our Welsh rivers? Do you find it expensive to support your favourite sports team? And did you see the first supermoon of the year?
Today we’re asking if water quality has stopped you from using our Welsh rivers for your leisure activities. This comes as lawyers say they've lodged the UK's biggest-ever environmental pollution claim at the High Court. Almost four thousand people have signed up to the case against major poultry producers Avara Foods Limited and Freemans of Newent Limited, alongside Welsh Water, over allegations of pollution in the rivers Wye, Lugg and Usk. All three deny the claims.
As Craig Bellamy’s Wales side face a crucial world cup qualifier against Belgium next week, we’re looking at the increasing cost of supporting sports teams. Last week, FIFA released the first batch of tickets for next summer's world cup matches in the USA. And prices have been widely criticised by fans. With general admission tickets for the first match in the USA costing between £417 and £1,662. It’s also been reported that FIFA will implement a 15% charge on both the buyer and seller of tickets resold via its official platform. So, whatever the sport, do you find it expensive to support your favourite team?
And did you see the first supermoon of the year? A supermoon happens when the Moon is closest to Earth, and so looks brighter and fuller than normal. And last night’s moon was the Harvest Moon, the name given to the full moon that rises closest to the autumn equinox.
