Debussy Preludes from the Ryedale Festival with Radio 3 New Generation Artist Julius Asal and the Tippett Piano Concerto from pianist Clare Hammond and the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Symphony Orchestra.

Mark Forrest introduces a selection of specially made recordings for the afternoon, including highlights from this summer's Ryedale Festival in Yorkshire featuring concerts given by Radio 3 New Generation Artists. Today pianist Julius Asal performs from Debussy's evocative collection of piano Préludes. And the piano takes centre stage in today's featured work from one of Benjamin Britten's British contemporaries - Clare Hammond in the soloist in Michael Tippett's rhapsodic Piano Concerto with the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Symphony Orchestra.
